I like the cosmetics thing. But selling upgraded items? I hate that stuff.
Please nothing that affects gameplay in any way. Purely cosmetic is fine, but these items should not be traded to other players. That's exactly how players get more money than others, and this results in a huge advantage for those who are willing to spend money.
Cosmetic items should be soulbound immediately. People will still buy it, it's called "role-playing game" for a reason.
AoA already mentioned that every thing that you will get from the game is tradeable :3
Yeah. How can we help others if items are not tradeable? :3
But do premium items count "got from the game"? This will result in people basically getting Col for money. I'm pretty sure this is not what the devs intend to allow.
If you say so just do what you want and wait for their approval :3
Yeah thats the spirit but make sure dont make them a person that only trust their fortune on the other person
Ahaha. I know. XD You will just teach them how to be a good player in Aoa.
Shishan, read the FAQ mate, read the FAQ xD No Items that will afect real gameplay will be sold.
Really? Good to hear that. XD
So you're saying that possible cosmetic items could be sold?
Just dont expect that much on cosmetics things cause as you can see they just base some things on sao, i think sao dont have cosmetics so its a full col to items trading only
I'm saying COSMETIC ITEMS will be sold.
AoA will never become Pay-To-Win.
Cosmetics and other stuff to cover the server costs. Yes.
Better weapons and stuff. No.
you have a valid point. it was a point to think about.
but from the point we are right now, we won't afford and simply cannot afford $50k.
you'd probably make much more than 50k an year when the game is out!
That defeats the purpose of paying the 50k.... If the game is already out we either already have the rights, or circumvented getting them by not basing it off sao as much
SAO-based DLC, here we come.
Haha that could work, but is it rlly worth 50k? Abso-freaking-lutely hahaha
+1 for a subscription of maybe 5£/$/euros. And just paid at the start of AoA some beginners kit with basics item who can be craftable or buyable (jobs items, like a knife for skinning or a clean map to created a real map, just basic for 1-2£/$/euros), and the VIP on te forum have an anticipated realease?
I do agree with cosmetics being a large opportunity since I myself have spent a blot of money on Mabinogi just for cosmetic equipment. (Outfits, mounts, hair and eye color.) I do believe the devs can make this game affordable without taking the dark p2w design.
Honestly, I've seen this happen to many many popular games. A subscription won't work (unless there's also a free to play similar to SWTOR) because nobody likes paying subscription and relying 100% on cosmetics won't work forever. Games that rely on cosmetics eventually evolve into p2w.
AoA should definitely require purchasing of the game. If you sold the game for something cheap like $30 on top of a cosmetics shop you'd be LOADED.
